There’s nothing better than a girls weekend, well besides a girls weekend in the CUTEST inn with spa days and vineyard tours.. ya that’s the best kind of girls weekend. I was lucky enough to get out of the hustle and bustle of D.C. for a weekend and sneak off to the Inn at Willow Grove, a luxury boutique hotel in Central Virginia, which sits an hour and a half from the city, but gives you the feeling you’re somewhere miles and miles away. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my city, but sometimes it’s nice to step away and clear your head.
My bestie, Maddie Potter from OtteStyle, and I loaded up the car, loaded up on snacks and hit the road. I hadn’t seen her since her engagement so we had TONS to catch up on. The drive flew by and before we knew it we were pulling up to our charming home for the weekend.
Seriously, look at how cute the front porch was! This cottage had four rooms, which were filled with other bloggers, so it kind of felt like I was back in college with my girlfriends right next door.
**This bed was heaven and made getting up every morning extremely difficult** Thanks to Maddie for practically dragging me out each day.
The Inn has a spa and restaurant on property. Our girls day at the Mill House Spa was hands down one of the best massages I’ve ever had, while the restaurant, Vintage, offered a romantic ambiance and incredible food! While our girls weekend was perfect, this would be a perfect spot for couples in the D.C. area looking for a romantic getaway (hint hint boys, plan this one and you’ll get tons of brownie points).
It’s a well known fact that I’m big on wine, like really really love my wine, so the day we spent at the Barboursville Vineyards was probably one of my favorites. I have to say, I went into the day expecting overly sweet, not so amazing wine, but I was wrong. The vineyards wine was really great, I even bought a few bottles to take home with me. We had lunch and a tasting that had me feeling like I was whisked away to Italy. That same day we had the opportunity to explore Montpelier Plantation, where James Madison lived.
