I made the switch to a clean deodorant and here’s what happened

Alright so here’s the deal, I’m putting it all out there for you… the good, the bad and the smelly. I’ve been saying I wanted to make the switch for a while, but you know how it goes… things continue on and it’s easier to just keep things the same. A month or so ago I was in Chicago with my friend Nicole and she convinced me to make the jump, she had just tried it out for 2 weeks and felt great. Now I had someone to hold me accountable, which always make things a little more real.

Which deodorant did I switch to?

Native

Why Native?

Native doesn’t use any aluminum, parabens, or sulfates in any of their products! In their products you’ll find ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter, for moisture, baking soda and probiotics for odor, and tapioca starch to stay fresh and dry.

How was the beginning?

At first, I definitely felt I smelled. You have to remember that I take part in pretty intense workouts, where the sweat is REAL, so there’s a need for odor protection. I didn’t have any sort of reactions and my skin remained the stayed the same. The texture of the deodorant is a little rough and grainy, but smooths out, and you get used to it.

What’s my favorite scent?

Coconut and Vanilla without a doubt! I also tested out their body wash and fell in love with the seasonal pumpkin spice scent.

After the full two weeks, which my cousin ended up doing with me, I feel great! The overall stinky feel went away and I feel like my body is adjusted. One thing that come from this whole experience is my growing awareness of what I’m putting on my skin, which is pretty much an open door to your body. I went through my other beauty products, did further research and ended up tossing out some products that had questionable ingredients.

Now it’s my turn to change the minds of some of my best blogger babes, @baileyschwartz and @byhilaryrose!
