Why You Need a Fashion Icon

I believe that every person should have that one fashion icon, and here’s why…

My fashion icon happens to be fictional, Serena van der Woodsen from the television series Gossip Girl. I think if you were to ask most people their style or fashion icon it would be someone with a few characteristics similar to their own. For me, I felt Serena had hair similar to mine and our styles were parallel. This way when she wore her hair a certain way I could mock it and have it come out somewhat the same.

So why should you have a fashion icon? Well, for one it’s fun to have that one person you track. If you pick someones taste you admire then you will grow to trust their clothing decisions and follow suit. I think of it like football. Boys love to have a team they root for, you know that one team that you never want to watch with them because of their testosterone driven passion throughout the entireeee game. Having a fashion icon is like a girls football team. You need that one person you admire and constantly root for. Having an inspiration will give you more ideas of how you can grow with your own style.
