Drug Store Contour

I’m the queen of being thrifty. People are always amazed at the deals and steals I get and the truth is, it’s simply something I enjoy. Yes, I can go into any high-end makeup store and have them pick out my entire makeup bag, but where’s the fun in that? This contour is for those of us who aren’t good at makeup, but still want that Kardashian look (for less).

Meet TruBlend. You’re new best friend. For starters, I picked this up this up at CVS, but it’s pretty much available at any drug store. Try to find a color that’s 5 shades darker than your skin. Begin with a fresh, makeup free face (I like to put on my tinted moisturizer first).

I start with my nose. Make a line down both sides of your nose bone. Connect these two lines at the tip of your nose, above the nostrils. Then add a line right above the button of your nose.

Once you’ve done the nose, it’s time to make those cheek bones POP.

Cheeks are done, and now we’re going to hit the forehead. This will help for the forehead to stray away from seeming like a fivehead, if you know what I mean.

Make three lines starting from the temple and angled into the top of the forehead. The lines should get longer as you move up. I like to add some dashes between the top two lines to keep it looking blended.

Lastly, we need to make it look like we’ve got a jaw line to kill for. I line my whole jaw line and then give each side of my chin two dashes to create the impression that it’s more pointed. Now we are on to blending!

You can use any sponge brush, I use one of my older ones that came with MAC face powder. Make sure to only use the sponge for contour because it will be soaking up a darker color that you wouldn’t want to use under your eyes.

Make circular motions and begin blending.

You can see the cheek bone shading in this picture, post blending. Make sure to blend it well so there are no lines showing.

YAY! All blended. You will top of with your normal powder foundation and then some extra bronzer.

Use a smaller eye shadow brush to go over the areas you just contoured, especially the cheekbones.

Almost there…..

You’ll be looking Kardashian contoured in no time!
