5 chic looks for meeting the parents

I’m in that stage of life where my friends are all starting to settle down. They’re finding “the one” and with that comes the always awkward first meeting of the parents. I’ve helped friends pick the perfect look and I thought I’d let you in on the fun, just in case you too are looking for some fashion advice.

This look is the perfect amount of class, sass and glam. When you’re first meeting the parents of your significant other you want to make sure you’re not showing too much skin and at the same time you want to look trendy. I don’t know why the concept of keeping it classy is hard for some people to grasp, but I’ve seen so many girls show up for the first meeting in ripped denim shorts. Jean shorts are fine for the beach, but for the first dinner or lunch, no.

It’s such a hard middle to find, that place between fashion forward and conservative. I love these satin shorts because they show enough skin, but the fit is looser and the material dresses them up. When it comes to shoes, don’t let your heels go over 4 inches… that’s not the way to make a good first impression. Wedges are probably the best option for dinner or lunch. Also, makeup should be light, just a little mascara and a dash of blush. I think this one goes without saying, but definitely refrain from showing any cleavage.

Here are some outfit options for every occasion.
