Leather jackets and how I’m working to save more money, honey.

Happy Monday, you guys!! Can’t believe we’re already in February… every year seems to fly by faster and faster. Unfortunately, I won’t be attending New York Fashion Week this coming weekend. I decided to save my money and use it to either go to this huge blogger conference in Dallas or hit NYFW in the spring, when the weather is nicer in NYC.

Lately, I’ve been trying to save more money and be smarter about how I spend it. I am really good about never touching my savings account, so the minute I get paid I sit down and budget what I think I’ll need for the next two weeks. Once I get that amount, I usually add on about $100 for frivolous spending, like Starbucks, makeup refills and Chick-fil-A. I immediately transfer all of the extra money to my savings and that’s that. Once the money is in there I don’t touch it for anything other than emergencies. If an emergency arises and I have to pull money out of savings I ALWAYS pay myself back within the next two paychecks, even if that means cutting back on something else. I’ve found that if I have $100 in my account for a week I’ll be fine and spend it, and if  I have $1,000 in my account for the week it will also be spent. I only give myself enough to get what I need and maybe a little extra.
