There’s nothing better than that feeling of heading home for the holidays. It’s that feeling of knowing how much love and family you’ll be surrounded by. The feeling where nothing else matters for an entire week. No work. No stress. Nothing but fun, food, game nights, baking and sharing old stories.
This year Publix is hosting a “Home for the Holidays” Sweepstakes for a chance to win round trip airfare for two anywhere in the continental US. My home is in Orlando, as most of you know, so Publix and home go hand-in-hand, as many of my favorite holiday memories include hitting the store with my mom and shopping for all of the holiday goodies (aka LOTS of cookie dough).
One of my favorite holiday traditions is baking cookies in our matching pajamas. Every year my mom buys everyone pajamas, which we open on Christmas Eve. I’m 26 now, but this pajama/baking tradition is still something I find myself looking forward to each year, and hope to continue on with my kids one day. If you were curious, my favorite cookie is a classic chocolate chip with cream cheese icing. Although, most years I end up eating more dough than cookie.
This year my little brother is stuck in Washington D.C. for the holidays due to his work schedule. If I won the sweepstakes I would fly my mom and dad up to D.C. for a quick holiday trip. This will be our first holiday season without my brother.
