Hello, Fall… Where are you? I’m SO ready for Florida to cool down a little and these cold shoulder tops are the perfect way to slowly transition my summer wardrobe. I’m not sure if I’m more ready for pumpkin flavored coffee or candy corn. Either way, I’ll be over here counting down the days until October.
A few people on Instagram asked me to do a full post on this style top so I’m linking up a bunch of them below. Hope you all love them as much as I do!
I’m taking this weekend, my first weekend home in a really long time, to be lazy and catch up on all of my trashy reality shows. Guilty pleasure. Also, I’m working to eat healthier again because all this travel has done a real number on my skin and body.
Ryan and I had been hearing about sensory deprivation tanks for a while now, so when we found out there was a float place in town we knew we had to try it! I was excited leading up to our float, but the morning of I became a little nervous. I had no idea what to expect and it didn’t help that I’m deathly afraid of the dark. Yes, I’m the person who sleeps with their tv on all night to avoid darkness.
The float was priced lower than I would’ve imagined, I think it was about $50 per person for 75 minutes. Sorry these pictures are so light, the Florida humidity caused my lens to fog up. Florida problems…
Here’s the list of rules that were hung up in my room. Prior to the soak I had to take off all of my jewelry (due to the salt level in the bath), put in ear plugs and shower off my body to remove all body oils. You can choose to wear a swimsuit or go nude. They say that it’s better to be fully naked so you can really take away all senses. After the soak they say to shower off immediately and wash your hair to prevent getting a film of salt dried on your body.
The pod is in a private room with a shower. It’s only about 5 inches deep and the water is the same temperature as your natural body temp. There’s a button in the tank that you can press, once the lid is closed, to turn off the light. I was too nervous to turn off the light for the first few minutes. Once I finally had the nerve to turn my pod to darkness I was a little more relaxed. Although, I’ll be honest and say that I kept my finger on the light switch for a while, afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find it again.
The water is so salty that your whole body lays on the surface and the tank gets darker than I’ve ever experienced. I have a really anxious personality so it was incredibly hard for me to get to that fully relaxed state. I asked the woman working if that was normal and she said it takes most people three visits to get there. I only lasted 45 of the 75 minutes I was supposed to be in the tank. Prior to the soak, Ryan and I had just finished the series Stranger Things on Netflix. Not a good idea. I was kind of freaked out the entire soak. I plan to go back and try the tank two more times to see what happens. Sensory deprivation tanks are supposed to help with sleep, anxiety, hangovers, body aches and much more. Overall, I would tell people to try it out because it is a really different experience.
This past weekend I attended my uncle’s 60th birthday bash, which was casino themed. There were games set up all around and AMAZING food! This maxi dress was the perfect game night look, especially once I paired it with this choker. The dress is made to be worn off-the-shoulder but I decided to take off the sleeves and wear it strapless. Don’t be afraid to play around with off-the-shoulder pieces and wear them differently!
Tips to achieve the perfect natural hair look:
shower before bed and sleep with your hair twisted into a high ballerina bun
use a textured hair spray (I love Ouai) linked below
curl just the middle portion of your hair- leaving the ends straight
I am officially back from my blogging hiatus!! Sorry for the continued absence, but I felt like I needed to be fully present with my family while we traveled and that meant a break from blogging. I snapped these pictures from the most amazing dinner spot called The Wellfleet Beachcomber on Cape Cod. The bar literally sits right on this gorgeous cliff and it was beyond packed with people! I love this top for throwing on with shorts or jeans, so easy and such a great fit. You may have seen me wear this top before in black or white (I have it in both). Also, my shorts are on MAJOR sale right now for under $35. I’m super picky about how my jean shorts fit, so when I find a pair I like it’s a big deal.
I don’t think I can tell you guys enough how much I LOVE this slinky black dress. It definitely looks way better on than it did online! I’m going to link a few of my favorite date night maxi-dresses for you guys in case my exact style sells out. Also, chokers are really in style right now so you all need to add one to your fall wardrobe.
My week has been super BLAH so far.. so much work to do and had to go to the dentist today, which I dread. Anyone else with me? If you don’t already, you should follow me on snapchat @madsmesser. I’ve been posting a lot of food, workout and beauty tips on there that you won’t want to miss.
Running is one of my passions and something I do at least 3 times a week. The one thing people forget is that no matter what you’re doing, if you’re outdoors, you should be wearing sunscreen. I used to hate, I mean really hate, wearing sunscreen because of how it felt on my skin. No one wants to walk around smelling like gross sunscreen and feeling all oily. That’s the best part about Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Weightless Lotion, it goes on like a lotion and leaves your skin feeling pampered and protected. Oh, and if anything, your friends will WANT to smell you. You’ll end up smelling like a walking Hawaii oasis. I don’t know about you, but I like to smell indulgent, especially when I’m on a run.
I’m sharing Hawaiian Tropic in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #HawaiianTropicCrowd
I wore this look to dinner the other night to celebrate my dads 63rd birthday. Sometimes nothing is cuter than pairing a plain t-shirt with jeans and fun flats. My flats and shirt are from an online boutique, Gray Monroe. Also, these sunglasses are AMAZE. They’re under $90, but have the same quality of RayBans. I want them in every color now! Somehow this Tuesday is already feeling like Thursday. This morning I drove all the way to a doctors appointment to find out I was there on the wrong day… It’s one of those days. My new bag, not pictured, looks exactly like a Chloe bag and it’s under $20!! At least this bag has made my kooky week a little better!

I start every morning by waking up my body, then waking up my mouth. Blogging requires so much more energy than most people would think. I always need to be connected and creative in order to keep my blog exciting and bold. In order to live the life I want and enjoy #MyBoldMoments, I need to be alert and ready to go from 9 am on!
My dad, as long as I can remember, wakes up and goes straight into push-ups. He always told me how much better he felt starting off his day with exercise. I decided to start going straight from bed to stretching and I’ve felt a huge difference. My blood gets pumping and I immediately feel more awake. When your body is awake, your mind is awake and you can then take on the day!
I blast my hip hop music and alternate between yoga poses and standing crunches/ jumping jacks. I also love to dance around and pretend I’m in a music video, but I won’t make you watch that…
I finish out my stretching routine with a minute of silence. I’m too anxious to meditate, but one minute is enough to get me focused and relaxed.
Then it’s on to the bathroom to get my mouth and make-up routine going.
Nothing wakes up your mouth, or helps you live boldly, like LISTERINE® Total Care! I’m such a mouthwash fanatic! You guys!! If I forget to brush my teeth or use mouthwash in the morning, I’m so self-conscious for the rest of the day. The best thing I do is wash my mouth out after my morning coffee. Also, I’m a candy fanatic so I use LISTERINE® Total Care to prevent cavities and restore/ strengthen my teeth.
Not sure where to pick up your favorite LISTERINE® product? I hit my local CVS and they have everything I need!
Happy Monday! Hope this routine helps you start out every day a little bolder.
Happy Fri-yay! Nothing screams weekend like a bright top and the comfiest jean shorts. I’m seriously loving on these Free People shorts, so much so that I also bought them in white. They’re on MAJOR sale, over 50% off!!! Sometimes the little details can make a whole outfit, in this case the details are in my shorts. This week exhausted me and I’m so ready to be home this weekend celebrating my dads birthday! I hope you all have relaxing weekends. Xox.
Everyone’s going nuts over this sale, and you’ll see why. All of the top name brands are currently on MAJOR sale right now to all Nordstrom credit card and debit card holders. Personally, I think the debit card is worth it, thanks to all the rewards and cash bonus opportunities, and the sale of course. I’m linking up what’s currently in my shopping cart for y’all. Use this sale for fall wardrobe needs (boots, scarves, cardigans etc.)
Love this color and it’s such a good staple piece for any fall closet. I’m linking everything at the end of this post.
Riding pants are really in for fall and they go with so many different outfits. I have a pair just like this and they pair great with boots. Pants are something you really want to spend your money on, because cheap brands really don’t fit as well.
Stuart Weitzman boots are every girls dream, maybe not everyyy girl, but most. I can never find this brand on sale and these booties are currently on MAJOR sale. They also come in 4 different colors. So in LOVE.
Another fall must-have, Hunter boots. I wear mine all fall and winter, with jeans or leggings. These are really cute and will look a little more dressy than the normal style.
I cannot get over the price of this leather jacket… $65.00… un real.
More boots!!! These over-the-knee killers are incredible and they are less than $110.00.
This cardigan!!! I’m dying for it and it’s 50% off. Come to mama.
Even beauty products are on sale. This PMD (personal microderm device) is incredible for your skin and it’ll pay for itself in 2 uses.
