If you watch Friends as religiously as I do, which would mean every single night before bed, then you know how amazing Rachel Green’s style was. I remember being in middle school and asking my hair stylist to cut my hair like Rachel’s, when she had her bob. If you don’t watch Friends then all of this is going to go right over your head. Anywayssss… I loved Rachel’s looks she wore when she worked at Ralph Lauren and for some reason this outfit feels so similar to her work style.
I went to Forever 21 last weekend and did some SERIOUS damage, which in the case of Forever 21 means I spent over $100. Everything there is just so inexpensive and I think that their design team has really stepped it up lately. I’ll admit that last year I got so bummed out by Forever 21. Every time I went in there, there would be so much grungy/rock clothing, not my style, so I kind of gave up. Then, last weekend my mom and I popped in and I rediscovered my love for the store. The 70’s is coming back, so much retro, and this black denim skirt was one of my purchases. I know Forever 21 can be overwhelming, but I promise if you take your time you’ll find great pieces.
Happy Monday, you guys!! Can’t believe we’re already in February… every year seems to fly by faster and faster. Unfortunately, I won’t be attending New York Fashion Week this coming weekend. I decided to save my money and use it to either go to this huge blogger conference in Dallas or hit NYFW in the spring, when the weather is nicer in NYC.
Lately, I’ve been trying to save more money and be smarter about how I spend it. I am really good about never touching my savings account, so the minute I get paid I sit down and budget what I think I’ll need for the next two weeks. Once I get that amount, I usually add on about $100 for frivolous spending, like Starbucks, makeup refills and Chick-fil-A. I immediately transfer all of the extra money to my savings and that’s that. Once the money is in there I don’t touch it for anything other than emergencies. If an emergency arises and I have to pull money out of savings I ALWAYS pay myself back within the next two paychecks, even if that means cutting back on something else. I’ve found that if I have $100 in my account for a week I’ll be fine and spend it, and if I have $1,000 in my account for the week it will also be spent. I only give myself enough to get what I need and maybe a little extra.
This whole outfit is under $100, you guys! Isn’t it funny how all fashion trends come back around? I remember strictly wearing flare jeans all throughout middle school and then ditching them entirely in high school, for Hollister jeans of course… I forgot how flattering flare denim is. Seriously, these jeans make your legs look skinny mini. I’m a compulsive closet cleaner, always giving away things I haven’t worn in a while. Now I’m wishing I hadn’t tossed all of my clothes that are now back in style.
This past weekend I finished A Series of Unfortunate Events, a Netflix original series starring Neil Patrick Harris. I loved the book series in middle school so watching this show was super nostalgic for me. The series is a little quirky, but once you get into it, it’s worth the watch.
My hair before the colorist and stylist worked their magic. It was unruly and my roots had grown out way more than I am proud of.
My hair after! SO much healthier and the colorist toned down my color a little for the spring.
I decided to keep my hair longer, as I always do when I get into the stylist chair. I have had moments of wanting shorter hair, but at the end of the day, once the hair is gone it takes too long to get it back. I’ll cut my hair when I’m a mom one day and don’t want to deal with the fuss of it.

Can’t tell you enough how much I LOVE what Gigi did with my hair. He gave me so much more definition. I have had so many people stop me and ask about my color since going to him. My biggest thing, when it comes to blondes, is looking natural and healthy. My goal is to always have people think I’m naturally blonde. I hate when you can see the lines of highlight in a girls hair. Gigi took my pet peeves and made sure my color turned out even better than I could’ve imagined.

Marie is another hair angel!! I love how Victoria Secret angels always have those pieces of hair that frame their faces and just seem to wisp around. Marie took exactly what I was looking for and then showed me how to recreate the blow out at home. If you have longer hair, you need to go to Marie.
HUGE shoutout to photographer Jessie, @Jessiedeexx, for documenting my day at Prive. If you make an appointment at the Orlando location, tell them Sweet Tea With Madi sent you and you’ll receive a FREE Kerastase Treatment with any service. Everyone’s always asking about where I get my hair done and what I ask for, now you have all the information you need
The leopard pumps are back… again… and I love it. Can’t stop, won’t stop wearing them. You’re going to get sick of seeing these, so sorry in advance. Also, this light pink sweater is the perfect color for spring!
Thank goodness for the weekend. This week has been pretty stressful, work wise, and I am needing an XL glass of wine. Sometimes I need to sit back and remind myself that work is just that, work. My life doesn’t revolve around it and I shouldn’t let small, silly, work things get to me. I’m an anxious person and I tend to lose sight of what’s really important in life.
This past week my intern, Samaya, shot my looks for the blog, for the first time, and they came out AMAZING! Had to give her some kudos for how well she did as photographer.
Valentine’s Day is on the horizon and it’s always such a stressful event when you’re in a newer relationship. What do you get him? What should you wear? Where should you go to dinner?
For starters, this GORGEOUS maxi dress is under $35 and looks like For Love and Lemons, a designer brand. I can honestly say that this is one of the best finds I’ve had in a while. Valentine’s Day attire should be sweet and classy, not too much skin. Stick to something more along the lines of Kate Middleton and less like Kim Kardashian.
I’ve been on the hunt for leopard pumps for months now. I thought it’d be easy, but it turned out to be really difficult. I found a few pairs, but they’d either be too low, too Jersey Shore looking or just out of stock in my size. Finally, I found this pair, which was extremely fitting since they’re Ivanka Trump brand (one of my favorite style icons and now the POTUS daughter). Animal print heels is a fun way to add pop to a basic outfit. I’ve already paired these pumps with a few different looks and they never fail to make me feel sassy.
Ok, let’s get to the good stuff… aka, last nights episode of The Bachelor.
Every year the show gets more absurd, yet I’m still hooked and watch, without fail, every single Monday night. Last season I loved Chad, the season before that I loved Olivia and now I love Corrine. Do we see a trend here? I think these crazy kooks add so much to the show and the producers obviously agree. I would love to be a fly on the wall as the producers are feeding the girls alcohol and telling Nick to keep Corrine around. Although, we saw how Nick loved Kaitlyn, during her season, and she was kind of a wild child herself. Maybe Nick likes crazy. Let’s be honest, a lot of guys do.
I will say, I admire Corrine for being herself and not constantly bashing the other girls, like they’ve done to her. She seems to confront issues head on and she’s not being fake about who she is. I am SO annoyed by most of the other girls (cough cough Taylor) and how much they worry about Corrine. Worry about yourself. None of the girls know Nick that well, yet they constantly claim to care about what he wants and what kind of woman he needs. You’ve known him for 2 weeks. Sounds very insecure to me.
Taylor needs to go home and step down off her high horse.
Raven is a crazy bitch and Nick now knows not to mess with her, or she’ll jump on him like a spider monkey. Hide the stilettos!
Vanessa is going to go far, but I think she should’ve waited to give him that book, which basically screams I’m so great and here’s why you should love me.
Corrine is crazy but makes for great tv, so let’ hope she sticks around for a while.
Too much rollerblading and Nick is weirdly good at it…
Nick’s mom is hip and his relationship with her is really sweet, although sometimes too much mamas boy isn’t a good thing.
I think I’m going to recap the show every Tuesday and start predicting who will get the cut the next week.
I’m all about finding designer dupes and this ruffled sweater is no exception. These fun sleeves are such an easy way to dress up any look and I promise, you’ll have people thinking you took awhile to get ready, when in reality you can just throw it on and go without much thought. This sweater comes in five colors and is $25… too good to be true.. yet true. I love how affordable this entire look is and I think you’ll love it too.

This is one of those winter outfits that you can most likely recreate with clothes already in your closet. I love owning a bunch of basic pieces because they can mixed and matched into numerous outfits. For this look I splurged on two pieces, the boots and the vest, otherwise the rest of the look you can put together really inexpensively. For example, Old Navy always has HUGE sales going on and they have every kind of basic you could need. I like to load up on long sleeve shirts and beanies during the winter to make my wardrobe go a longer way.
I will say that my North Face vest and Hunter boots are pieces I got my moneys worth by wearing them ALL the time. My mom always says to spend money on a good watch, shoes, a purse and sunglasses, the rest doesn’t need to be designer. She’s usually right, but on this one I really have to agree. If I were to put on a Forever 21 dress with Marc Fischer wedges, my Michele watch and a pair of RayBan aviators, you’d think my dress was at least $50, if not more.
You can never go wrong with a basic pullover, especially one made by Patagonia. I live in this ALL YEAR LONG. The important thing when choosing sweatshirts and pullovers is picking pieces that can be worn out without looking too frumpy. Also, a lot of people think that Hunter boots can only be worn in the rain. Not true, you guys. I wear my Hunters in the snow, cold weather and rain. I actually want to add to my Hunter collection this spring, either with a light pink or bright yellow pair.
I’m proud to say that we are in the second week of January and I haven’t had a Diet Coke in over 3 weeks. It wasn’t my new year resolution, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to do away with for a while. I wanted to give up soda because of my teeth and stomach. I’m going to try and keep this up as long as I can and I’ll make sure to let you guys know if I feel any differences. Honestly, switching soda for sparkling water with lime/lemon hasn’t been as hard as I thought so I hope this can be a lifestyle change I hold onto.
